The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have reportedly drafted a plan to seize and hold more territory in Gaza if negotiations with Hamas collapse, according to journalist Yaron Avraham of Channel 12.
The plan, described by some officials as a "takeover of Gaza," was presented recently by IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir as a more effective alternative to the proposed humanitarian city, which he criticized as too vulnerable.
According to the report, the plan received strong support from ministers who were briefed, with the military arguing it would better advance the goals of defeating Hamas and returning hostages. "Instead of dealing with the humanitarian city that harms the goals of the war, we should seriously deal with a plan that advances the goals of the war," one official said.
