Israel’s National Security Council on Thursday updated its travel warning for citizens in the United Arab Emirates, citing a heightened risk of terror attacks. The alert follows growing concerns over activity by Iranian-backed groups, Hamas, Hezbollah, and global jihad networks.
According to the Council, there is increased motivation to carry out attacks in response to Israel's recent Operation 'Am KeLavi' and the ongoing war in Gaza. Israeli and Jewish targets in the UAE may be especially vulnerable around holidays and weekends, the Israeli prime minister's office said in a statement. The UAE remains under a Level 3 warning, advising against non-essential travel.
Authorities also recommend reporting suspicious activity to local security forces. "Past experience shows that terrorist organizations often focus their efforts on countries adjacent to them," the documents showed.
