Israeli forces had carried out three waves of strikes against targets inside Iran, according to a spokesperson for Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, the armed forces' main operational command.

The Iranian military reiterated earlier warnings that any Israeli aggression would provoke a firm response, adding that Israel would "pay a heavy price."

Although a temporary halt in hostilities was announced earlier by US President Donald Trump, tensions remain high as both countries accuse each other of ceasefire violations.
