Israeli jets struck the emergency department of the Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza's Khan Younis, killing five people, Al Jazeera Arabic reported on Sunday.
An unspecified number of others were injured in the attack, according to the news agency. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed carrying out the strike, saying its forces targeted a "key Hamas terrorist," without naming him.
The IDF said further that the attack came after "an extensive intelligence-gathering process," adding that "precision munition" was used in order to mitigate harm.
