Israel is readying to open a third crossing into northern Gaza that would allow more humanitarian aid to come in, The Times of Israel reported on Friday citing two senior officials.
According to the officials, the Zikim Crossing should become functional later this month. One of the officials specified that this crossing is envisioned to be used as the main route for aid to northern Gaza, as the other two routes currently functioning aren't suited for great amounts of trucks.
Earlier this month, Erez Crossing was opened after the Western leaders urged Israel to take "concrete" steps to alleviate the suffering in the area.
