Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar on Tuesday sent a letter to United States Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield, who currently serves as UN Security Council president, asking her to convene an emergency session in order to condemn Yemen's Houthi attacks on Israel.
"I must underscore that the persistent acts of hostility by the Houthis are in flagrant violation of international law," the minister noted, adding that the rebel group's actions pose a "threat to international peace and security."
On Monday, Sa'ar instructed Israeli envoys in Europe to pressure their host countries to include the Houthis on the list of terrorist organizations.
