Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid asked Israeli citizens not to travel to Turkey claiming they could be the target of Iranian terrorists. He made the appeal after Israeli media reported that Israel and Turkey recently foiled an attempt by Iranian actors to kidnap Israeli tourists in Turkey.

"These terrorist attacks are aimed at Israelis who went on vacation. They are intentionally choosing Israeli citizens to abduct or murder. It could happen to anyone. It’s a real and immediate danger," Lapid told the parliament. He urged citizens not to travel to Turkey unless it is necessary, and to come back as soon as possible if they are already in the country.
