Israel Defense Forces (IDF) General Staff Chief Herzi Halevi (pictured) insisted on Wednesday that the army is "at a very high level of readiness" in the north and prepared for the possibility of Hezbollah's attack.

Speaking while visiting the IDF's Northern Command, Halevi noted that "the campaign here has been managed correctly and meticulously, and this is how it should continue." Commenting on the goals for that part of the country, he said that "[o]ur first task is to return residents safely, and that will take time. Today, we approved a variety of plans for the future, and we need to be ready for an offensive if necessary."

Earlier in the day, the IDF said it struck a number of targets in southern Lebanon, explaining that "several terrorist infrastructures were destroyed alongside military sites of the terrorist organization Hezbollah."
