Israeli Economy Minister Nir Barakat told ABC News on Thursday that the eradication of Hamas is Israel's "priority" over saving hostages and preventing civilian casualties "even if it takes a year."

Regarding the underground tunnels previously constructed by Hamas in Gaza, the economy minister emphasized that these tunnels will ultimately serve as the "world's largest cemetery." Lastly, the minister disclosed that the Israeli military has received approval to move into Gaza "whenever it's ready."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu underscored that the war with Hamas will be a "long" one, claiming that the militant group's attack on October 7 was an attempt to "destroy Israel's regional peace moves." Previously, the Israeli Defense Forces announced the arrival of Washington's military aid package.
