Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli officials met with the officials from the Trump administration last night to discuss the United States' potential involvement in Israel's conflict with Iran, the Jerusalem Post reported on Friday, citing two sources with knowledge of the meeting.
According to the report, Netanyahu was accompanied by Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz, Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, and other Israeli officials, while the American team included US Vice President JD Vance and US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. The two delegations reportedly discussed whether Washington should join Israel in its strikes on Iran.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters yesterday that US President Donald Trump was still interested in pursuing a diplomatic resolution with Tehran and would therefore make his decision on the US direct involvement in the conflict within the next two weeks.
