Israeli air strikes on the Al-Mawasi area in western Khan Younis have killed over 50 people and injured many others, according to medical sources.
Israeli warplanes are said to have fired five missiles at displaced Palestinians near the Al-Nus roundabout, hitting tents and a water distillation unit in Al-Mawasi.
The Gaza Government Media Office reported that over 100 people, including civil defense staff, were either killed or wounded in the attack. Meanwhile, a Gaza civil defense spokesperson cited by Al Jazeera said the targeted area had been designated as a "safe" zone by Israeli forces.
