The Israel Defense Forces announced Saturday plans to escalate its offensive against Hamas in Gaza if hostage negotiations continue to stall. The military intends to call up a large number of reservists and expand its operations into new areas of Gaza. The IDF warned that if the hostage talks remain deadlocked, the offensive will intensify.
This statement follows a deadly Israeli airstrike that destroyed a three-story house in Gaza City, killing 10 people, including five children. Amidst this, Hamas reportedly expressed willingness to discuss a one-time release of all remaining hostages and a five-year ceasefire in Gaza. However, Israel's military seems to have dismissed this offer, continuing with its hardline stance.
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry in Gaza reported that the death toll from Israeli actions has reached 51,495, with 117,524 injured since October 7, 2023. Since March 18, 2025, 2,111 have been killed, and 5,483 wounded.
