Israeli forces have killed at least 70 Palestinians in overnight strikes on Gaza, Al Jazeera reported on Wednesday, citing medical sources.
At least 50 victims were civilians from northern Gaza, where Israel has expanded its operations.
Earlier this week, Israeli media reported that Israel Defense Forces (IDF) forces targeted Hamas leader Mohammed Sinwar in the strike on the European Hospital in Khan Younis. The news site Ynet stated that Israel did not inform the US of the attempted operation, since it was unplanned and instead a "clear opportunity" that came about. There has been no further confirmation on the success of the operation, as Sinwar's condition remains unclear.
