Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated on Thursday that his country is ready to deploy more Oreshnik missiles on its territory if an agreement is reached with Russia to increase the number of novel intermediate-range ballistic missiles already present on his country's territory.
"I think it's ten for now, and then we'll see," Lukashenko told reporters. Earlier this month, Lukashenko confirmed Russia delivered its new Oreshnik missiles to Belarus without giving further details.
On November 21, Russia used the new missile to target a factory complex in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro, with President Vladimir Putin later revealing that no air defense system currently in operation was able to intercept it.
