The Israeli delegation, comprised of Mossad, Shin Bet, and the Israel Defense Forces representatives, negotiating a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages will return from Doha for consultations after a "significant week" of talks, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said in a statement on Tuesday.
"The team is returning for internal deliberations in Israel about the continuation of negotiations to bring our hostages home," Netanyahu's office noted.
Previously, a spokesperson for Qatar's Foreign Ministry said that the negotiations are ongoing in Doha, although he emphasized that rumors of a ceasefire deal before Christmas are "speculation."
