Israeli Police told reporters on Wednesday, after the explosion that occurred near a central bus station in Jerusalem and another one that took place in the northern part of the city, that they are currently treating the two blasts as coordinated joint attacks.
Israeli Police Chief Kobi Shabtai stated that the suspected terrorist attack "is one we have not seen for years. We don’t know if we’re talking about one or a dozen terrorists. I request all citizens to be cautious of every suspicious device."
He asserted that, as the primary bomb was allegedly planted in a bag near a bus, there will be further inspections of all buses in Jerusalem, while bomb-sniffing dogs are to be employed in order to search for explosive devices.
