Israel's response to the Iranian missile attack will be aimed at bringing about "significant financial damage," the Times of Israel reported on Wednesday, citing an unnamed Israeli source. According to the report, the response "must be significant and must come soon."
Meanwhile, Israeli officials told Axios that Israel is considering targeting Iran's oil production facilities and other strategic sites. Additionally, the officials said that Israel's response could also include targeted assassinations and knocking out Iranian air defense systems.
The day before, Iran attacked Israel with some 180 ballistic missiles in response to the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Deputy Commander Abbas Nilforoushan. Following the attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed that Iran will "pay for it."
