Producer Price Index (PPI) in Italy rose 1.1% in December 2024 compared to the same timeframe in 2023, the country's National Institute of Statistics (Istat) announced on Friday in a report. On a monthly basis, the figure was up 0.6%.
The biggest contributor to the year-on-year rise was the wood, paper, and printing industry, which grew 1.5% domestically and 6.1% in the euro area. Meanwhile, the largest decrease was registered in the refined petroleum products sector, with the prices sliding 4.7% in the domestic market and 4.9% in the Eurozone.
In the fourth quarter of 2024, producer prices rose 1.6% compared to the previous three-month period.
