Retail sales in Italy decreased by 0.4% in January compared to December, Istat said in a new report on Wednesday. The figure was lower than analysts expected. Sales of food products fell by 0.3%, and non-food products saw a 0.5% drop.
On a yearly basis, retail trade recorded a 0.9% rise. Food sales increased by 2.1% from January 2024, while non-food sales remained unchanged.
