Retail sales in Italy fell by 0.4% in May compared to the previous month, according to a report by Istat published on Friday. Year-on-year, retail sales grew by 1.3%.
Compared to May 2024, sales of food products increased by 2.5%, while non-food products rose by 0.4%. The value of retail sales improved for large-scale distribution, adding 3.2%, decreased for companies operating in small surfaces by 0.4% and e-commerce by 0.9%, and was unchanged for sales outside stores.
