Italy's industrial production declined by 0.9% in February compared to the month before, according to a report by the country's statistics office Istat published on Thursday.
Compared to January, February saw a decrease in the production of capital goods of 3.3%, while intermediate goods output dropped by 2% and consumer goods production fell by 1.9%. Meanwhile, energy output observed an increase of 4% month-on-month.
On a yearly basis, Italy recorded a 2.7% decrease in industrial output in February. Capital goods plunged by 9.8%, intermediate goods dipped by 4.6% and consumer goods declined by 2%. On the other hand, energy production jumped by 7.6% year-over-year.
