The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) successfully conducted its first launch of 2019, sending an Epsilon rocket with seven satellites into orbit.
The primary mission was the delivery of the Rapid Innovation Payload Demonstration Satellite or RAPIS-1. Also called the Innovative Technology Demonstration Satellite, the spacecraft will be used to test technology in orbit for potential use in future missions.
The launch was conducted from the Uchinoura Space Centre and is the fourth flight for the Epsilon-type rocket since its introduction in 2013.
