United States State Department Spokesperson Ned Price stressed on Monday that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is "one of the diplomatic means" to ensure that Tehran "never" possesses nuclear weapons.
Speaking at the regular press briefing, the State Department spokesperson stressed that the country's 46th President Joe Biden and his administration remain committed to "permanently" and "verifiably" barring Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
Price stressed that the negotiations for the nuclear agreement with Iran are "not in a healthy position," adding that if Tehran were to acquire nuclear weapons, Washington's "challenges" with the Iranian regime would get more "difficult," adding that the US "does not see Iran deal coming together soon."
