The select House committee handling the Capitol riot probe has agreed to shield some of the former administration's records, at the request of President Joe Biden's administration.

The deferral comes after the White House expressed concerns about releasing all the documents, as it could compromise national security.

The committee was tasked with investigating the incident that occurred on January 6, when backers of former President Donald Trump breached the Capitol while Congress was in session.
