Jan. 6 panel to ask McCarthy for testimony

The House select committee investigating the January 6 Capitol riots asked on Wednesday House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (pictured) to voluntarily provide details about the Capitol civil unrest.

McCarthy will be asked about his interactions with Former United States President Donald Trump during the Capitol riot, Representative Bennie Thompson said to the press.

The Republican previously accused the Democratic party of using the probe to "further divide" the US.
