Japan's Hayashi says Tokyo will maintain Russia sanctions

Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi (pictured) on Wednesday said Tokyo will maintain its sanctions on Russia.

The foreign minister emphasized Japan's alignment with G7 nations, including the United States, in upholding these sanctions as well as aiding Ukraine.

Commenting on recent phone talks between Russian and US defense chiefs, Hayashi said Japan is aware of their statements but refrained from detailed comments.
