Japan's SBI and PFN partner on next-gen AI semiconductors

SBI Holdings and Preferred Networks Inc. (PFN) have formed a capital and business alliance to advance the development of next-generation AI semiconductors, SBI announced in a statement.

According to the announcement, this collaboration will focus on joint research and productization of PFN's AI semiconductor technology, along with support from SBI for financing and manufacturing processes. The partnership aims to strengthen Japan's semiconductor industry and contribute to economic growth in regions like Miyagi Prefecture, where SBI is actively involved.

The alliance comes at a time of growing demand for high-performance, low-power AI semiconductors, driven by the rapid expansion of generative AI technology.
