Japanese Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki (pictured) remarked that the country's economy is in such a state it offers a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" to "defeat inflation."
Speaking to reporters, Suzuki noted the "bright signs" the Japanese economy has been sending. Still, he also admitted that recent surveys showed the public fostered worries about fiscal discipline.
Suzuki's comments came after Bank of Japan (BoJ) Governor Kazuo Ueda reiterated that the institution continues to implement loose monetary policy in an effort to reduce inflation.
