Japan's seasonally adjusted Consumer Confidence Index was 35.0 in February, the country's Cabinet Office said in a report published on Monday. The figure came in below last month's 35.2 and missed expectations.
The income growth indicator was down 0.2 points to 39.7, while the overall livelihood index lost 0.3 points to come in at 31.9, and the employment index increased 0.1 points month on month to 41.1. Meanwhile, the willingness to buy durable goods stood at 27.2, decreasing by 0.3 points from the month before.
The percentage of respondents who expect prices to increase over the next year was 93.3%, unchanged from the previous month, while 2.6% of those surveyed see them unchanged and 2.4% expect prices to fall.
