The seasonally adjusted industrial production index in Japan increased by 4.4% in March compared to February and stood at 101.7, according to a revised report published by the country's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry on Thursday.
Year-on-year, the non-seasonally adjusted production index decreased by 6.2%, landing at 110.0, the report revealed.
The shipments index increased by 4.7% on a monthly basis and stood at 100.4. Compared to the same month of the previous year, it declined by 6.8% landing at 110.1. The inventories index increased by 1% month-to-month, reaching 102.6 while decreasing by 1% on a yearly basis. The inventory ratio index increased by 7.6% coming to 107.2 and increased year-on-year by 6.8%.
