Japan's industrial output up by 2.5% in February

The seasonally adjusted industrial production index in Japan observed a monthly increase of 2.5% to land at 102.4 in February. Compared to the same month in 2024, the figure increased by 0.3%, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) said in its preliminary report published on Monday.

The shipments index advanced by 3% month-on-month to hit 101.5 and increased 1.5% year-on-year. The inventories index came in at 100.9, decreasing by 1.7% compared to the previous month and reducing by 1.4% compared to February 2024.

The inventory ratio stood at 102.8, down by 3.5% on a monthly level and increasing by 0.4% on an annual one.
