Producer prices in Japan dropped 0.7% in May compared to April, according to the latest data from the Bank of Japan on Monday. The Producer Price Index (PPI) decreased more than analysts expected. On a yearly basis, Japan's PPI grew by 5.1% in May.
The Import Price Index was up by 2.2% from April but down 5.4% annually. The Export Price Index grew by 1.7% month-on-month and 2% compared to May 2022.
