Japan's producer price index (PPI) rose by 3% in July compared to the same time period last year, slightly lower than expected, the Bank of Japan revealed in a preliminary report on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, on a monthly basis, the PPI increased by 0.3% compared to last month's figure of 0.2%.
The report also shows a 3% growth in Japan's export price index on a contractual currency basis over the year, with no change observed on a monthly basis. Import prices recorded a year-on-year increase of 1.6% while increasing by 0.4% month-on-month.
