The activity in Japan's services sector observed a slight improvement compared to the previous month, with the Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) coming in at 51.7, rising from October's 51.6, S&P Global said in its report.
Meanwhile, manufacturing deteriorated and remained in the contraction territory, with the PMI going from the past month's 48.7 to 48.1.
The composite PMI, which takes into account the results achieved in the two aforementioned sectors, was somewhat neutral at 50.0, declining from November's 50.5.
