Japan's total merchandise trade deficit landed at ¥621.8 billion in July, the country's Finance Ministry said in its report published on Wednesday. The reading proved to be weaker than expected.
According to the report, the new figure is a 914% increase over last year's figure of ¥61 billion. In addition, exports rose 10.3% year-on-year slightly lower than analysts predicted, while imports advanced 16.6% annually, beating expectations.
