Japan's trade surplus at ¥62.1B in December

Japan's trade surplus in December stood at ¥62.1 billion ($418 million), improving from a ¥776 billion deficit in November, according to data from the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday.

Exports grew by 9.8% year-on-year, while imports dropped by 6.8%.

Exports and imports to China rose to 9.6% and 0.4%, respectively, while exports to the United States increased by 20.4% and imports to the country decreased by 6.9%
