Japan's unemployment rate landed at 2.5% in January on a monthly seasonally adjusted basis, according to a report by the nation's Statistics Bureau, released on Tuesday.

The ratio of job openings increased from 1.25 to 1.26, still showing a relatively sustained availability of jobs per applicant in Japan.
