The unemployment rate in Japan increased to 2.7% in July, according to the Statistics Bureau's report on Tuesday. The figure was 0.2 percentage points higher than in June and exceeded analysts' expectations.
The number of employed people in Japan stood at 67.72 million in July, 170,000 more compared to the same month in 2022. The number of unemployed people was 1.83 million in July, up by 70,000 year-on-year and rising for the first time in three months.
