The Japanese government announced on Friday new sanctions on Russia in line with the G7 agreement to hold Moscow responsible for the invasion of Ukraine. Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno said Japan is freezing the assets of 78 groups and 17 individuals in Russia, as well as banning domestic companies from providing construction and engineering services to Russia.
In total, 207 groups and 700 individuals are subjected to an asset freeze by the Japanese government. In addition, 437 companies are covered by an export ban, according to Russian media.
