Hunt: UK banking system 'well capitalized'

United Kingdom Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt said on Tuesday, while addressing the House of Commons, that the country's banking system is "well capitalized."

"The government does recognize that there is some volatility in markets, but we believe that the UK's banking system is fundamentally strong," Hunt underlined.

Nonetheless, he went on to say that the government will continue to "keep a close eye" on the matter.
