Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is expected to announce the drop of the tourist visit ban as well as the removal of a daily arrival cap in the upcoming days.

The decision will likely take effect next month according to a report published by the Nikkei on Wednesday. However, it would highly depend on the health situation in the country and the COVID-19 outbreak.

When the decision is approved, travelers from the United States won't need visas to enter Japan. At the same time, Japan will remove the daily entry cap of 50,000 foreign passengers.
