Major stock indexes in the Asia-Pacific region traded mixed on Monday, as just Japanese and South Korean markets were working during the day. Investors received the latest update on Japan's first-quarter gross domestic product which showed a slowdown. On the other hand, its BOP trade deficit came in at ¥661.5 billion in April.
Markets in Hong Kong, China, and Australia were closed due to local holidays.
Japan's Nikkei 225 went up by 0.52% at 4:00 am CET. South Korea's Kospi lost 0.79% at the same time. The dollar traded 0.10% higher against the yen at 4:00 am CET, selling for 159.9075.
