Japan's seasonally adjusted Consumer Confidence Index decreased in March when compared to the figure seen the previous month, down by 0.9 points to land at 34.1, according to a report released on Wednesday by the country's Cabinet Office.
The overall livelihood index decreased by 0.6 points from the previous month to reach 30.9, while the employment index marked a 1.7-point contraction, ending at 39.2. The income growth indicator increased by 0.7 points in the meantime to stand at 38.8, with the willingness to buy durable goods rising by 0.2 .
The percentage of survey respondents who revealed they expect the prices to fall in the upcoming year stood at 2.1%, down by 0.3% month-on-month, while 93.9% of survey respondents saw the prices going down, marking an increase of 0.6%. In the meantime, 0.1% fewer survey respondents claimed they see the prices remaining at the same level.
