Major European stock markets traded mostly higher at the opening bell on Wednesday as investors assessed the latest inflation data from the United Kingdom. Additionally, British Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves is expected to announce further welfare cuts and a defense boost in her Spring Statement.
The DAX advanced by 0.37% at the open with Daimler Truck Holding AG rising by 1.18%. The FTSE 100 added 0.29% as Anglo American plc jumped 1.20%. The Euro Stoxx 50 improved by 0.22% and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG gained 0.69%. On the other hand, the CAC 40 was flat.
The euro traded flat against the dollar to go for $1.07882 at 8:58 am CET. At the same time, the pound lost 0.25% compared to the greenback, selling for $1.29123.
