United Kingdom Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson called North Korea's actions "reckless and illegal" on Thursday. In an interview with BBC radio, Johnson urged the world to work together to resolve the issue on the Korean Peninsula and stressed China particularly needs to go further in dealing with Pyongyang.
North Korea conducted its first intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) test earlier in the week and claimed the ICBM has the ability to carry a large nuclear warhead.
On Wednesday, United States President Donald Trump blasted China for its increasing trade with North Korea and not cooperating with the US on the the denuclearization of the East Asian country.
