Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi warned Wednesday that Israel's continued escalation poses a serious threat to the entire region.
Speaking during a meeting in Amman, Safadi stressed that Israel's alleged actions in the massive pagers explosions in Lebanon are pushing the region "towards the abyss." He emphasized the urgency of halting the aggression in Gaza and preventing further violence in the West Bank and Jerusalem. The meeting, held ahead of the UN General Assembly, sought to coordinate efforts among Arab nations to protect Palestinian interests and prevent a regional conflict.
"We will go to the General Assembly with a number of clear positions and demands and we will hold a number of meetings there. As I said, the first priority is to stop the aggression on Gaza, stop the escalation in the West Bank and stop the escalation against Lebanon as well, and clarify the danger of continuing to allow this most extremist Israeli government in Israel's history to push the region towards the abyss," he said according to the Al-Mamlaka TV.
