Jordan's monarch, King Abdullah II, administered the oath of office to a fresh executive, with Jafar Hassan assuming the roles of prime minister and minister of defense, state news agency PETRA reported on Wednesday.
Within this new administration, Ayman Safadi was appointed as the deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs and expatriates.
Hassan will replace Bisher Al Khasawneh, who tendered his government's resignation following parliamentary elections in which the Islamist opposition emerged as the frontrunner, albeit without securing a majority.
