Jordan's Prime Minister Bisher Al Khasawneh (pictured) and his government gave in the resignation letter to Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, King of Jordan, Jordanian public service news channel Al-Mamlaka TV said on Sunday.
The decision comes after the country's general elections, which took place on September 10. Al Khasawneh, the 43rd prime minister, took office back in October 2020.
According to preliminary results, delivered by Jordan's Independent Election Commission Chairman Musa Maaytah, the Islamist opposition party Islamic Action Front won, but failed to obtain a majority.
