United States District Judge Aileen Cannon ruled on Thursday to unseal a more detailed list of the documents the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) seized from the country's former President Donald Trump's residence in Florida last month, the Wall Street Journal reported.
The decision followed an earlier hearing on whether to appoint a third party to review the seized documents from the Mar-a-Lago residence, at the request of Trump's legal team who sought to halt the Justice Department's investigation and determine whether issues of executive and lawyer-client privilege rendered some of the material inadmissible.
Previously, the court released a document explaining the reasoning for an FBI search of the former president's residence based on "mishandling presidential documents," including classified documents that Trump is suspected to have taken when leaving office.
