Kash Patel gives first interview as FBI director

United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel gave his first interview since being sworn in, appearing on Fox News' Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy.

He explained that intentionally stayed silent for his first month to focus on his work. Now, he spoke out about his priorities, including violent crime and the fentanyl crisis. Patel stressed that violent crime is "out of control," echoing President Donald Trump's concerns.

He also criticized the prior lack of urgency in addressing this, while vowing that the FBI now intends to "accomplish its goals."
